Het Cirrus project is een gezamenlijk project geweest van de Hogeschool Brabant, het programma DTO-KOV en de HBO-raad met als doel een aanpak te ontwikkelen om duurzame ontwikkeling een werkelijk integraal onderdeel te maken van het hoger onderwijs, in alle opleidingen en op alle niveaus. Het project vond plaats binnen de Faculteit Techniek & Natuur van de Hogeschool Brabant. Het Cirrus project heeft hiermee een pioniers en demonstratie functie vervuld voor het overig hoger onderwijs in Nederland.
Het project is nu beeindigd maar de informatie willen we beschikbaar blijven stellen via deze site. De kenniskring en lectoraat Duurzame Bedrijfsvoering is ook een van de concrete resultaten.

Integrating Sustainable Development in Higher Education

The Cirrus project is the result of a cooperation of the Brabant University of Professional Education (UPE) the Dutch interdepartmental program Sustainable Technological Development and the Dutch Council of UPE’s.The goal is to develop and demonstrate an approach that in a practical way integrates sustainable development into higher education, in all studies and on all levels. The project is done within the Faculty Technology and Natural Sciences (former Polytechnic) of the Brabant University of Professional Education.
There is a strong focus on the higher technical and engineering education, but the approaches and materials that are developed are certainly applicable to non-technical studies too. The faculty and the project have as such a pioneering and demonstration role for higher education in the Netherlands, but certainly also for higher education abroad.
Through this site the knowledge, experience and the materials it developed are still made available.
This website is one of its means to do that. (English version)
